  • I have never been more convicted than I am now that the Old German Baptist Brethren Church is where I want/am called to be.

  • That has to be a great feeling...knowing where you belong and wanting that at the same time! Im searching for that myself. My family and I have been visiting some other churches recently. Its a hard thing not feeling a part of the church body you once felt you belonged to. I long for the day when I feel that closeness again!

*I really like your profile pict. Vey good pict of you.*

  • Amen.... and my God richly bless you as you follow where He leads!

  • That is fantastic! *grin*
It is wonderful to hear that you, Colin, have that conviction about the OGBBC! I am not so sure I can have the same feeling at this momment (with the group my family fellowships with), I think God is trying to teach me something else... (a nasty but much needed word) contentment.

  • i'm with you.

  • and...i have in my possession a little notebook...i suspect it's yours.

  • amen and praise the LORD! It is so refreshing to see real commitment to a body of believers...sadly lacking in our circles, it seems.

  • I want/am called to be a disciple of Yeshua, and I pledge my allegience only to Him.  How can anyone be SO committed to a denomination yet not follow the prescribed guidelines--ie music, activities, dress, and the list goes on?  Seems a bit of an oxymoron to me.  My calling is to follow Yeshua and His Word.  I may choose to fellowship with believers, but I am only committed to them through love as believers and not as an organized denomination.  I am not a Xanga user, but your post and several responses told me I could not be silent on this subject.

  • I'm glad you have found where you feel God wants you. I don't feel that's where I'm to be, but at least one of us know what's going on;) Blessings~Bren

  • Looks like you pulled up another HBGB, brother.  We'll let you answer him/her, though;)

  • Or it might be one of the usuals under a different xanga name...;)

  • YEAH WAT IS A HBGB??? HELL BOUND GERMAN BAPTIST?:)

  • I agree with the 6/19/2007 post above by bkuns

  • Your post is clear, but incomplete to me. My question is simply, "Why?"

  • bkuns? was that spoken in love?

  • why not hippocratically bound Gentile believer?

  • Gentiles bound to Hippocrates? Hmmm....

  • some GB's are HEAVEN bound

  • I suppose we should clarify so there are no misassumptions here...  The HBGB reference was to Hebrew GBs;)  Just a friendly nod to Sam and Trent and calledforhim and everbody else who feels for various reasons to use the Hebrew translations of the English names we have all grown up with (since most of us only speak English).  Yeshua instead of Jesus, Yahweh instead of God, etc.  Nothing derogatory.

  • cfilbs-all i have is love in my heart brothah.

  • Why was asked.  short answer...  the growth and committment to the Lord that I have seen in the last couple years,  a portion of which was my own, and the love displayed,  has shown me that without a doubt,  I am surrounded by fellow believers that love their Lord and are dedicated to Him.  That the Spirit is alive and moving in my church.  And that if you will close down the selfishness that threatens to overwhelm us all, and fully submit your life, your thoughts, and your energies to the will of God, the results will leave you speechless, filled with awe for a God so great, so powerful, and so personal that you cannot begin to comprehend.

  • Stunningly well said and exceeding beautiful. A hearty AMEN!

  • Amen! Praise God for young Brethren like you! You are the future Church and with everything going on in the Church oday, we need young people like you to take a stand for the Truth. And to keep the enemy away from our fellowship.
