  • Would you be willing to enlarge on that thought. I feel there is much that you might share. Thanks!

  • Trust me, brother, I understand. I lost both grandpa's and a Dad inside 5 years. I still miss 'em! It's OK!

    God bless you!

    STANLEY CLARENCE FILBRUN NOV. 19, 1924 - MAY 27, 2008

Stanley Clarence Filbrun was born November 19th, 1924 in Fullerton, CA to Clarence and Bertha (Churchbaugh) Filbrun.

He moved to Modesto when he was 11 years old, and was engaged in farming for the course of his life. He graduated from Ceres High School in 1942, and was married to Wilma Kinzie on May 15, 1946.

In addition to farming and gardening, he was an Elder in the Old German Baptist Brethren Church and spent much time ministering to the needs and welfare of his congregation.

After battling cancer for the past four years, he passed suddenly from this life to a far better one on May 27th, 2008 at Memorial Medical Center in Modesto, surrounded by his children and grandchildren.

He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Wilma; children Robert & Sue Filbrun, Janet & Ray Benedict, and Galen & Brenda Filbrun; eleven grandchildren; Leslie & Melanie Bowman, Todd & Jessica Filbrun, Jesse & Megan Slothour, Maggie & Jay Hawbaker, Layne & Tara Filbrun, Matthan & Jolene Benedict, Christian & Amy Filbrun, Colin, Karly, Kayley and Ashlan Filbrun and thirteen great-grandchildren. Also surviving are sisters-in-law; Margaret Miller, Gladys and David Metzger, Della and Wayne Knaus and brothers-in-law Earl Fisher and Howard and Lois Flory.

Preceding him in death were his parents and 3 sisters; Doris Fisher, Phyllis Flory and Pauline Grover.
He will be greatly missed by his family and friends, but we rejoice that he has gone to be with the Lord he spent his life serving, and in the promise that we will see him again someday.
